TTIA President Outlines Key Issues to Government at TTBS Launch

Last night at the Hyatt Regency was the website launch of the Trinidad and Tobago Building Source, a dynamic new online resources of building products, suppliers, contractors, and design professionals in Trinidad and Tobago. The Trinidad and Tobago Institute of Architects (TTIA) gave their full support this new initiative by one of its own members, Ruana Booker-Evans who is the managing director.

Before the feature address by Senator Dr. the Honourable Bhoendradatt Tewarie, Minister of Planning and Sustainable Development, TTIA President, Jenifer Smith was invited to gave a presentation that helped define the complex and often misunderstood role that architects play in the design buildings as well as a very lucid description to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on what are the key issues necessary to improve one of the important local Service Industries to serves the public interest, the Architecture Industry.

Click to download her presentation, which even inspired the Minister to not read his prepared speech and instead begin to address some of the industry’s most pressing issues.
